Parasites are detrimental to our lives.
Parasites are relationships or situations that destroy our energy and deplete us, robbing us of our continued growth and evolving selfhood. These psychic/spiritual impediments separate us from our divine connection depriving us of joy and happiness.
Parasites frequently are people who ‘take’ from us leaving us feeling hollow and empty. Not infrequently these persons reside in our families- parents, spouses, lovers, relatives, sometimes even grown children. Parasites can also masquerade as friends, neighbours or acquaintances. They can be found in situations we find ourselves in- jobs, groups that we belong to, or institutions that we attend.
Parasites must be removed.
The nature of a parasite is to live off of its host, taking and giving nothing in return. The remedy for parasites is to deny them access to us. This may require the courage to end a relationship or situation that is not good for you. Protecting yourself from parasitic erosion by clearly establishing boundaries is essential so you can live fully and realize your potential.
Some indicators that you are in a parasitic relationship or situation are the following:
- You realize upon reflection that a person or situation leaves you feeling emotionally hung over, and it takes a long time to recover.
- You feel an inner resistance to engaging with a person or a specific event.
- You have attempted to change the situation by addressing the issues that concern you but change just isn’t ‘in the cards.’
- You notice that your joy and happiness is lost every time you engage in a specific activity or meet a certain person.
Parasites are insidious and harmful.
It is our responsibility to say No to these impediments so we can say Yes to the unfolding beauty of our cosmic destiny.
